A holistic capacity-building programme for Community Health Entrepreneurs from rural & marginalized communities.
This was a project with Plustrust, a Bangalore based NGO that has collaborated with Bahaar Foundation to enable simple testing and diagnostic services in rural parts of India where these medical facilities are not readily available. SiS came into the picture to design sustainable solutions to help them further in this journey by offering knowledge, skills and building their self-confidence.

A holistic capacity building model that enables women to interact with their society and establish their credibility.
The Challenge
Upon analyzing national statistics, we observed a substantial disparity in the availability of proper healthcare services between rural and urban areas.
70% of Indian population is rural and less than
25% of healthcare services are accessible to them.
The Project
With this in mind, Plustrust aimed to empower women in rural India to bridge the gap of inaccessible healthcare in their communities and achieve holistic independence. However, they soon realized that the right intentions alone were not enough to enable these women. To truly make a difference, We needed to gain a deep understanding of their circumstances, obstacles, and sense of self. It became evident that there was a gap between the intended responses and the actual needs of these women that needed to be addressed.

What is happening!
Our Solution
To ensure lasting impact, we holistically build our beneficiaries capacities that equip them to understand complex information, help them build a supportive community to power through and kickstart the cycle of change in their society.
Our Intervention
Our solution enables our beneficiaries with suitable frameworks and their application at each step, create a safe space for them to share, process and regulate their emotions and empower them with methods to interact with their community and stakeholders to accelerate lasting impact.
Information & Question Prompts
We provided the CHEs with collaterals of various topics. The collaterals entailed information on topics like menstruation, first aid, drowning, etc. The information was provided through various mediums like, text, images, and videos.

Undoubtedly, our efforts have contributed to improving our beneficiaries’ life, and while the numbers may serve as a means to convey the extent of the impact we have made, they only scratch the surface of the transformation we have catalyzed.
